Our Story
We Almost Became an Ice Cream Shop
In 1984, Jeanne and John Bradley wanted to build something of their own. They looked at a Carvel Ice Cream franchise, but the fees were out of reach. So they pivoted to what they loved — and Pro Pedals Bike Shop opened its doors at 682 South White Horse Pike in Hammonton.
What started as a small shop in a building that dates to 1970 became a South Jersey institution. John and Jeanne were casual cyclists when they started. Forty years later, they've helped thousands of riders find their perfect bike, from first-timers nervous about clip-in pedals to racers chasing state championships.
Their son Jason grew up surrounded by derailleurs and disc brakes. Today he manages the shop, oversees professional bike fitting, and stages the New Jersey State Road Race Championship. The Bradleys still know most of their customers by name.
Three generations. Same building. Same family. Same commitment: every rider who walks through that door leaves better equipped than they arrived.
